Exotic Car Rental at Miami Airport: How It Works

Landing at MIA or FLL and picking up a car that is actually waiting.

Airport handovers are the most time-sensitive bookings we do and the easiest to get wrong, because flights move and rental counters do not. We do not have a counter. We come to you, and we watch the flight so that the car arrives when you actually land rather than when you were scheduled to.

We track the flight

Send the flight number with your booking. If you land two hours late, the car lands two hours late, and there is no charge for the wait. This is the single biggest difference between this and a counter rental, where a delayed flight means either a queue or a cancelled reservation.

Where we meet you

At the terminal kerb, at arrivals, at the exact door you name. MIA and FLL both work this way. If you would rather not do a kerbside handover with luggage and a family in tow, the better plan is usually to have the car delivered to your hotel instead — you arrive, you check in, and the car is there when you are ready for it.

Private terminals

Opa-locka and the Signature FBOs at both airports are routine for us. The handover is simpler there than at the main terminals — more room, no kerbside pressure, and we can be waiting when you come off the aircraft rather than meeting you in traffic.

FLL and the cruise port

Fort Lauderdale is often the easier airport, and Port Everglades is five minutes from it. A good number of these bookings start or end with a ship. Disembarkation times move around a great deal, so give us the vessel and the terminal and we will work to the real time.

What to have ready

Your licence and your insurance, physically with you rather than in a checked bag. That last part catches people out more than anything else — if the documents are in the hold and the hold is delayed, we cannot hand the car over. Keep them in your carry-on.

Returning it

Collection at the terminal on your way out works the same way as the delivery: you tell us a time and a door, we are there. You do not drive to a return lot, you do not queue, and you do not need to leave two hours early to allow for it.

A one-way between airports

Picking up at FLL and dropping at MIA, or the reverse, is usually possible because both are inside our delivery area. Ask when you book and we will quote it with the reservation rather than refusing it outright.

Common questions

What if my flight is delayed overnight?
Call us and we will move the booking. A delay that turns into a different day is a rescheduling conversation, not a cancellation charge — we would rather keep the booking than penalise you for an airline.
Can somebody else collect the car for me?
Only if they are checked in as a driver, with their own valid licence and insurance. We cannot hand a car to somebody we have not checked, however well you know them.
Is airport delivery more expensive than hotel delivery?
Not inherently — delivery is quoted by distance, and both airports are well inside our normal area. You will see the figure with your reservation either way.
