Renting an Exotic Car for a Wedding
How the timing works, which cars photograph best, and what to ask for.
Wedding bookings are the ones we plan around most carefully, because unlike every other rental there is no version where the car turns up late. Here is how we run them and what to think about when you book.
Book earlier than you think
Specific car, specific date, and usually a Saturday — that combination goes first. If your date is set, book as soon as you know it. We can hold a car a long way out, and a wedding is the one booking where we would rather have it in the calendar six months early than fit it in six weeks before.
Which cars work
The Rolls-Royce is what most people picture, and it earns that — it photographs beautifully, the doors are theatrical, and there is room for a dress. The Bentley is the same idea in a slightly quieter register. If the couple wants something with more noise for the departure, a supercar as a second car for the exit is a common pairing.
Take the chauffeur
Almost every wedding booking we do is chauffeured, and it should be. Nobody in the wedding party wants to be parking, and the person getting married should not be driving. It also means the car can wait where waiting is needed rather than circling, and it removes the licence, insurance and deposit requirements entirely.
Tell us the schedule, not the hours
This is the useful part. Do not book "four hours" — tell us the ceremony time, where the photographs are happening, and where the reception is. We will build the timing around that, including the gaps, and we will be early to every one of them. Weddings run late; we plan for it.
Photographs
If the car is going to be in the pictures, tell us and tell your photographer. We will position it rather than leaving it wherever it landed, and we will make sure it is clean on the side the camera is on. It is a small thing that shows up in every photograph afterwards.
Practical details worth settling early
Whether the venue has somewhere for the car to stand. Whether there is a gate, a guardhouse or a name we need to be on. Whether anyone is throwing confetti near it, which is fine outdoors and much less fine inside a Rolls-Royce. And who our point of contact is on the day — ideally somebody who is not the couple.
If it rains
It is Florida, and it will, briefly. It changes nothing about the booking. The car arrives regardless, the chauffeur has an umbrella, and the photographs are usually better afterwards anyway.
Common questions
- How far in advance should I book a wedding car?
- As soon as the date is fixed. Saturdays in season are the first thing to go, and a wedding is the one booking where being early costs you nothing and being late costs you the car you wanted.
- Can we have two cars?
- Yes, and it is a common request — something classic for the ceremony and something loud for the exit. Tell us both and we will schedule the handovers so neither is standing around.
- Do you decorate the car?
- We will accommodate ribbon on the front if you arrange it, and we will fit it ourselves so nothing is taped to paintwork. Anything more elaborate, talk to us first.
